And the clock is ticking...

I don't dare say it out loud or I might jinx it, but it does APPEAR that there will be a closing on a certain old house we know in two weeks. That's two weeks people! Do we have a place to move yet? NO! We may have to join the homeless people under the bridge or something. Goodness! Connie has generously offered the spare room in her house, but even the best of friends can't do that forever.
We should be packing this weekend. But are we? No! I think Steve has even caught my procrastination bug cause we are going to watch the Razorbacks first game in Little Rock tomorrow night. Connie gave me tickets for my birthday, so the three of us are heading over there to tailgate after lunch tomorrow. Yeehaw! Then we will come back to Cabot to stay at her mom's house. She has a pool, so there could be some crazy late night partiers out there! Steve has never been to a game at War Memorial Stadium, so we are looking forward to it.
We have gone full circle on the house hunting. Do people do this all the time and I've just never known about it? Good heavens, it is physically and mentally exhausting. We've even got spreadsheets now for the positive and negative aspects of most of the houses we go to, along with the extra photos I take. The problem continues to be houses we like on lots we don't and vice versa.
The house we both REALLY liked and just knew we'd be moving into in two weeks did not go through. The guy claims he is a "motivated seller" but apparently he is confused about the definition. Nothing was motivated about his negotiations. We tried, but I guess there's a reason it didn't work out. Who wants an old nasty pool anyway?????
We have come full circle through a number of houses, upstairs, downstairs, fancy kitchens, decks, patios, granite, hardwoods, must-see this one to believe it and on and on. We are back to one that we have now walked through three times with our realtor. Must be something there.
We had made an offer way back on it, but since it was with the contingency that we sell ours, the buyer wasn't interested. Now we can negotiate a bit differently. There's a couple of things that we wish were different: no back yard because of the huge deck and wooded hillside AND all bedrooms and full baths are upstairs. We have been over it a million times....if we do choose this one, we may be kicking ourselves later. I don't know. I've had a couple of folks say that we could just get one of those seats that ride you up and down the stairs with a push of a button. There was a sitcom years ago that had an elderly matriarch that did just that...can't remember the name of it...not that it matters.
It appears the positives outweight the negatives by a mile. We are going to give it until Monday and if nothing else appears on the horizon, I think we might give it a shot.
Knowing our luck someone will put an offer in on it Sunday. It's always something, ya know.
