It must have been the NyQuil

Okay folks...I am here to tell you. If you never read another thing on my blog, remember this. If you wake up some morning and get ready for work and CANNOT find your keys....please, just go right back to bed, pull the covers over your head and forget about even trying to make the day okay in any shape, fashion or form. It simply will not happen.

It must have been the Nyquil. I will blame it on that at least. Maybe I can sue the company or some other idiotic thing such as that. I mean, after all, if the head guy at Merrill Lynch thinks he should be getting a year end bonus of 10 million this year, anything is possible, right??
I have been fighting off the beginning of a cold for a couple of days and decided to take Nyquil last night. The night before I had only slept for about 3 hours and was "dead therapist walking" all day Monday. This is not good.

I was asleep before Leno even started his monologue. I totally missed his "headlines" on Monday night, which is like my favorite thing he does all week! I don't think I even rolled over all night.

This morning I got up feeling rested, but still having the cold. Bah Humbug! Got ready for work and set the alarm and dragged everything out to the car and started digging in my purse for my keys, which were not there. So then I searched my laptop bag and my file bag.....no keys. Looked inside my car...no keys.

You know this routine. You look in places that your keys would have had to grow legs and run to, but you are desperate so you look there anyway. I had to go back in the house, turn off the alarm and begin "the search." Of course, this throws Zoie and Koko out of their routine because they think it is naptime and what am I doing back home already. No keys anywhere and I'm almost late for my first appointment. I call Steve and he doesn't recall seeing them and then asks questions that you could kill someone for at that point, like "did you look in your car?" I find myself getting short with him and wondering why I even called him....which is very rare indeed. (I feel guilty and apologize later) I took the spare key and took off for work.

Getting to work I knew I would not have a key to my door, so I go around to the classroom that is connected to mine to sneak through and there is a large "DO NOT ENTER: TESTING" sign there. So, then I had to find a custodian to let me in. This all happened as I'm lugging my purse and three bags around.

As the morning went on, I realized I did not have the key to my file drawers so I didn't have access to my client's files, schedules, etc. I was basically working without the things I needed to work with. I'm sure I had hidden an extra file key somewhere in my office, but where it is I couldn't tell you!

I took a break and ran home for another quick scouting trip for my keys around 10:30. I had not gone in the small bedroom that Steve has brought his laptop into. I peeked in there and guess what I found....right there on his desk! I cannot imagine what I was doing in there to put them down there (I will have to put the blame on him, of course) but at least I found them and could get back to work.

For some reason, however, even after finding the keys, my day was just off course. I can't really explain it. It was like I couldn't really get it in gear. I'm not sure if it's a hangover from the NyQuil or what, but the stress has been terrible!!!!
I'm just going to take 2 more NyQuil now and go to bed. Anyone want a cold???
