Tonight was a fun experience for Steve and I. We met Jon and Mary Beth for a game in Springdale of the Kansas City Royals minor league team, the Naturals. They actually won the game 8-4, which always makes it more interesting to watch. It was our first visit to the Arvest Stadium and it was quite impressive. Jon's company that he works for, IPC, handled the communication stuff and all of the monitors that people watch all over the stadium. We enjoyed brats and hot dogs and laughing at some guy dressed as a chicken making fun of the umpire and giving the Naturals mascot a hard time most of the evening. It was relaxing and a great way to spend a Saturday night. The weather kept promising a big storm, but the game never stopped even with lightening threatening in the background. We had met Mary Beth at the shop where she works earlier for help with fabrics for window treatments in the kitchen/dining room "redo" that is our summer project. Oh yes, I needed another project! We exchanged wedding lists and information for her to work on as she and Jon leave this week for a weeklong visit to Virginia Beach with his family. I think they are planning a shower out there for them and most of the extended family decided to give them gift cards for places like Linens & things and Home Depot since it is so hard to travel with any extra packages or luggage these days! Great idea folks in Virginia!!! You folks must have it going on!
As our days clip by, Mary Beth and I talk almost daily or email daily about where we are on our list and it seems that one of us is usually in a panic mode, but thankfully it hasn't happened that we both hit it on the same day. So at least one of us can calm the other one down!! There are just so many details to arrange and phone calls and decisions to be made. But tonight was just a lot of fun with the two of them. They really do seem like a good match for each other. They are so different, like Steve and I are....which is likely a good thing because the two parts make a complete whole, a natural whole. Thanks Mary Beth and Jon for a fun evening. We are looking forward to many more!
