And it begins. We knew it was coming. We've known it for a long time. I think we both have put it out of our minds for a long time that someday we would have to make those final repairs and clean out those closets to get the house ready to sell. I think that there have been little elves coming in during the night over the last 17 years and instead of cleaning and straightening were actually creating havoc and disarray! We've gathered boxes from everywhere you can imagine. We have now rented a storage unit that could just about hold our entire house and Steve has started making trips out there.I'm not very useful since I can't lift anything, but I can certainly pack boxes! It's so hard not to get caught up in looking through things and travelling down memory lane when doing so. Talk about distractions!!! Then, of course, I find tons of stuff to shred....workers comp hearing, the "Jason" chronicles, old insurance processing forms and the list goes on. Poor shredder.
Today the guys came about the new windows and the replacement siding. Too bad they will be in place when we are gone...hopefully.
Some say they think our house will see quickly, but with things like they are you never know. We made an offer based on the contingency that we sell ours and the owner didn't want any part of that. It would really be a win-win situation for her since she would have our offer and if anyone else placed an offer, then we would have 48 hours to come up with buying the house or canceling our offer. So we will see.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the repairs and packing move on.
